El Taquito is a family owned restaurant that started in Austin and is one of the original places a resident could get Authentic Mexican Comida till the morning hours. They started from a taco truck and now have expanded to three successful restaurant locations, El Taquito’s brandmark was not coinciding with the feel of the restaurant and quality they are known for. Thus, a re-branding ensued. The objectives were to specifically stick to brandmark design and accompanying environmental signage and employee touchpoints.
Famous for their Al Pastor tacos, a modern version of the Al Pastor kabab was designed to serve as the logomark, and a unique modern typeface was designed specifically for them, along with the catchy tagline, “Real Tacos Real Late.” (Their locations are open later than any other restaurants in the area, making it the perfect destination for anyone after a night out dancing at the club)
