Woodeeeee

Today’s letter is also one we have to connect the shapes with. I was drivin by Roberts Printing in Downtown Georgetown and to my right, there was a door to a rundown building. The shapes on the door looked strong compared to everything else around it and there I found my E. I like the boldness i the bottom bar, it gives the E a strong foundation. Maybe that could be something to explore when making type in illustrator? Giving a letterform’s foundation more breadth. Till next time.

H

Image-1-2Check out this crazzzy tall H! It’s pretty basic with an oversized crossbar. Not very many special techniques used to make this one. Only some extra wood scraps, and some sharpie markers.

F

Image-1Today’s post comes from a couple things that were found next to each other on my desk.  I had an L wrench?? ( I think that’s what it’s called) for my bike, laying on my desk, and a sliver of staples also, which formed this great looking F! Seriously this one got me smiling from ear to ear. I love the way this letterform came out.

Always Remember to Look Up

I was trying to draw a D today and wasnt liking any of the letterforms I was coming up with. Then I looked up, and in front of me was this remote for some bar lights that cried to be taken a pic of. The side of the remote looked like a tall D. So I had to take a picture of it. Amazing the things we find when we just look up. I guess today’s lesson is to alway look up. :)

Paper Made

A little late posting this one but I swear it was made on Saturday. I was eating some tacos and got a little burst of creativity. The letterform was made with, the little paper, that straws normally come in. It’s not perfect but it has it’s own personality.
